Our first pictures of a Sew & Sew Skills Lab in action!

After a lengthy lock-down, the students of Pond Inlet are in creative high gear, making parkas and mitts while learning to use their new JANOME sewing machines. In a wonderful act of generosity, several of the high school students are making parkas for people in the community who don’t have one.

Through the ongoing generosity of Janome Canada, as well as the support of Baffinland Iron Mines and our kind donors, we have established four Sew & Sew Skills Labs in Nunavut. In addition to this a small lab in Garden Hill, Manitoba and have 6 more schools ready to come online for 2022.

Watch for an upcoming call for sewing supplies coming in April and May. Drop Off Dates for Donation of Sewing Materials & Art Supplies:

Tues. Apr 19, 21, 25, and May 9, 2022

Between 9-12 noon Location: 50 Bennett Street, Unit 3, Carleton Place, ON K7C 4J9

All other drop offs can be made by appointment.
